Mission and services
Mission
The FBM IT Service (Si) is responsible for providing local IT services based on UNIL and CHUV existing resources (hardware and software infrastructure). It provides IT support to the UNILUNIL's research community (faculty members, mid-level staff, assistants) and to the administrative and technical staff of the Departments who have signed the Membership and support agreement of the FBM IT Management Plan (PFBM).
Activities
The activities of the FBM IT Service are the following:
| Support | IT management | Infrastructure |
|---|---|---|
| User support | Hardware and equipment purchases | Central NAS server management |
| Computer installations and repair | Software purchases | Servers and FBM applications |
| Documentation and training | Inventory | Projects and development |
Services
The FBM IT Service offers:
-
Local IT support in UNIL buildings located at the Bugnon and Epalinges
- Purchases of IT equipment, installation and configuration of FBM computers and laptops
- Access management to FBM IT resources
- Development and maintenance of FBM web applications tailored to the needs of the Faculty
- Technical maintenance of classrooms (Micropolis, Epalinges) and IT equipment for the animal facilities (PyRAT project) located in the Bugnon-Epalinges area
- Development of IT projects to continuously improve the offer of the FBM IT Management Plan (PFBM).
Organisation
The FBM IT Service does not replace the activities of UNIL's Central IT Services (Ci) ornor those of the CHUV Information Systems Department (DSI), but rather complements them to meet the specific needs of the faculty. It strives to maintain dialogue between faculty users and the various IT teams at the Ci (UNIL) and the DSI (CHUV).
It brings together local IT managers who provide user support, as well as specialists in infrastructure, application, and project management.
