What is Open Access?
Open Access, according to the Budapest Open Access Initiative, is digital scientific literature that is online, free of charge, and free from most licensing and copyright restrictions. What makes it possible is the internet and the consent of the author.
It is fully compatible with peer review, copyright, revenue, prestige, quality, and the many other services associated with conventional scholarly literature.
